What a weekend!!! Dub FX in a double pac.
First this hot performance @SO36 the day before and than the other day poor energetic fun at this 3 hours streetshow @Nordhafen - including jam session with other street artists.
During the SO36-gig Dub FX told the audience that they will make a street show the other day at 5 pm so I was looking for more infos when I was back at home again.
The streetshow should happen under a bridge near Nordhafen - never have been there before. I came there half an hour before it should start. I found it immediately because sound could already be heard from there.
There were some people (maybe 20 - 30) sitting around this area but I was not sure if they were there because of the streetshow. I was looking for a shadowed place and a good look to the installations. I asked some other people if they were here because of Dub FX but they were surprised to hear about it.
There was a red haired and full-beared man already doing some beat boxing and background sound when Dub FX and the rest of his crew arrived. They checked the area for the best place to stay (under the trees with no direct sun). They took their own equipment and put it together with the already installed things. Two big loudspeakers and an amplifier cooled by some ventilators.
The red haired man made the bridge with some beat boxing before Dub FX started short afer 5 pm.
Before they performed Mr. Dub FX asked the people if someone at the place was also at the gig the day before and a lot of us gave him a sign. He also said that this performance would not be the same like the gig @SO36 so I was excited how it would go.
I took a full video of the first song (more than 9 min) which was performed only by himself and I identified the song as some freestyle going over in Made and Prove me wrong - especially the second part of the song.
Andy V and CAde supported him than for the next songs. Maybe afer 45 min he asked us again if we like more to hear the songs or a jam session. Most of the people said JAM so the next hour it was always the same beat and other people around there had the chance to participate as a perfomer. I think 4 or 5 people tried to sing something over the beat and it didn't sound bad. One coloured guy was doing german rap pretty well, one other tried oriental sound and another was doin a rock song over the beat. It was poor fun. For a short moment I was thinging about doin also some performance but I didn't know what lyrics I know pretty well. So I dropped the idea and enjoyed the rest of the show.
After 7 pm they were doin a lot of songs I knew like don't give up, supernova, step on my trip, flow, society gates, intensions, the rain is gone and Love someone and the audience were dancing. I bought the new record "Theory of Harmony" and was waiting until the end to get it signed and I got my picture together with Dub FX hugging. I also thanked CAde and Andy V for the wonderful show and than I left the place almost late after 8 pm.
