Georgia-native Brother Wallace has announced his debut album Electric Love, out May 8 via ATO Records, and has released the album’s title track.

The album was produced and co-written by Dan Taylor of The Heavy, and engineered and mixed by Bob Mackenzie and Jim Abbiss, and features 13 songs, including Wallace’s debut single, ‘Who’s That?’

Wallace, a K-12 music teacher from West Point Georgia, began his musical career playing piano in church, and has since gone on to perform alongside gospel singer Kirk Franklin and at Madison Square Garden.

“I grew up listening to a lot of R&B, blues, gospel, a little bit of pop,” said Wallace of his influences. “My older brother was sort of my musical guru, and he was constantly playing me records by artists like Prince and Parliament-Funkadelic—definitely a lot deeper than what most kids my age were listening to.”

The album’s title track was premiered by The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC Radio 6 Music.

“It’s about choosing connection,” Wallace said of the track. “Finding that current again - the thing that reminds you you’re alive.”

Electric Love is out May 8, and Brother Wallace will be supporting St. Paul and the Broken Bones on tour this spring, in the UK and Europe starting in May.
