It doesn't take much research to figure out why the new album from Slash and Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators is titled 4. It's their fourth album as a collective, and that straight-ahead approach is consistent with the quality of the songs on the record.

A no-holds-barred blast of rock and roll, 4 teams the legendary Guns N' Roses guitarist with Kennedy, one of the finest hard-rock vocalists of the contemporary era, on 10 tracks of slamming, guitar-driven energy.

The record was released today, Feb. 11.

Here's "Call Off the Dogs," another pre-release track:

To celebrate the release, Slash & Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators performed the album in its entirety in a free live stream event on Friday. Catch a replay:

This record is the first release on Gibson Records after the guitar company announced its new endeavor back in July.

The celebrated guitarist known for his unmistakable presence in GnR, his years of high-profile status as a key artist in the extended Gibson family, his solo career and previous work with Kennedy and the Conspirators, said this in a statement of the new deal with Gibson:

"It's an honor to be the first release on the new Gibson Records. It's a zenith in our partnership for sure and having worked so closely with Gibson for so long, I know they will be a label that genuinely supports their artists creatively. Not just me, but all the artists they choose to work with. It's perfect."

And of the album itself:

"It has a very spontaneous, fun kind of thing to it, and I love that," Slash said in a statement. "It's the sound of the five of us just jamming together in one room."
